Newport Corridor Improvements

Newport Corridor Improvements

The Newport Corridor Improvements was a multi-phased roadway and active transportation project that included over a mile of roadway modernization and safety improvements; new stormwater, sewer, and water lines; complex utility relocation; pavement reconstruction; and intersection improvements (including four roundabouts). Working within a busy urban corridor, the team prioritized maintaining access for businesses, residents, and all modes of travel through proactive planning and ongoing stakeholder coordination. Early engagement with property owners helped shape a design that reflected real-world operations, while close collaboration with the City allowed improvements to be delivered within the existing right-of-way, avoiding major property impacts.
Through a CM/GC approach and strong field coordination, the team successfully navigated design changes, phased construction, and shifting priorities—while maintaining schedule and momentum. Early procurement of key materials reduced risk and generated significant cost savings, and all major project milestones were completed on time.
