North Unit Irrigation District Lateral Segment Piping

North Unit Irrigation District Lateral Segment Piping

Originally planned as a two-station project, budget constraints required a revised approach. As the selected best-value contractor, TNW partnered closely with the owner and design team to deliver a cost-effective solution while preserving future expansion. Through value engineering and a collaborative, CM/GC-style approach, TNW helped advance the first pump station while the owner secured funding for the second.

Pump Station 1: TNW led demolition of an existing facility and construction of a new pump station featuring 11 vertical turbine pumps (ten 200-HP and one 100-HP). The scope included installation of 500 linear feet of 78-inch HDPE supply pipe, a 96-inch HDPE header, and a steel discharge header ranging from 54 to 78 inches, supported by 460 cubic yards of concrete. The work required complex excavation, dewatering, and precise execution to meet schedule demands and ensure uninterrupted service for the 2024 irrigation season.
